Garden Cottage is located in the flower garden of a private residence overlooking Lough Derg, on the river Shannon. It is rural, quiet and secluded, with a panoramic view of the Lake.The cottage is electrically heated and will accommodate 3 adults in comfort:

• One double bed and a Sofa Bed
• Washer & Dryer (Linen is provided)
• Fully equipped kitchen with Fridge, Cooker & Microwave
• Shower (no bath)
• Colour Television

Adjacent to Garden Cottage, is the studio of Celia Keegan, a ceramic artist who creates unique, hand formed and hand painted, porcelain floral arrangements and floral ornaments.  Although many of the artist's more elaborate works are produced under commission, there are usually several examples available for viewing or purchase.
Guests are free to use the garden and the owner is always available to provide assistance and advice on local attractions and facilities.

Garden Cottage is in premium dairy land; and offers a perfect retreat for those who would like to enjoy a real taste of country living.

Hikers will be pleased to note that Garden Cottage is on the "Lough Derg Way";   There are excellent walks and hiking trails, along the forested lakeshore, across open fields or on the hills, surrounding Lough Derg.  Some of these trails offer splendid panoramic views of the countryside. On a clear day, you can see five counties from the top of Tountinna (some claim they can see seven!).

The local village of Portroe is a 5 minute drive away and has a post-office, a small supermarket and other essential amenities. For more extensive shopping, the town of Nenagh is only 8 miles from the cottage, on the main Dublin-Limerick road.  Limerick itself is only a half hour drive.

The nearest 18 hole golf course is only 12 miles from the cottage.

Larkin's Pub is a two mile walk across the fields, in the picturesque fishing village of Garykennedy.   Larkin's has long been renowned for its traditional Irish music sessions and is becoming increasingly popular as an excellent dining establishment.

Garden Cottage is in the heart of Ireland's scenic Mid-West Region and is an ideal base for exploring;

• The west coast including the cities of Galway and Cork.
• The Burren (famous for its limestone landscapes and rare alpine flora)
• The Cliffs of Moher, Killarney and the Dingle Peninsula.
